Summer is here, so we’re holding an outdoor shuck & potluck with the New York Oyster Lovers Meetup. If you’ve never shucked an oyster before, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn how from our seasoned group of ostreaphiles!

We’ll be meeting on Saturday, July 21 at noon in Prospect Park. The cost for this Meetup is a cool $10, which includes 8-10 oysters (depending on availability) and the priceless knowledge of how to shuck your own oysters. Shucking knives, plates, forks and napkins will be provided. So bring a dish to pass and your thirst for learning! If there’s a grill available, we can also try grilling some oysters.

We will gather in Prospect Park at a table near the Picnic House. To get there, enter the park from the west side at 3rd St, then turn right to go south. In about 3 minutes, you should see signs for the Picnic House on the left. We’ll be at one of the picnic tables around/behind the Picnic House (not inside).
